What is E10?
In September 2021, the standard petrol/unleaded/Shell FuelSave grade (or main grade) in the UK will become E10, in line with government mandate. All fuel retailers will be following this mandate.
The Department for Transport has shared the following information:
E10 petrol contains up to 10% renewable ethanol, compared to 5% currently, which is added to help reduce CO2 emissions.*
E10 petrol is compatible with almost all (95%) petrol-powered vehicles on the road today, including all cars built since 2011.

This change, will be equivalent to taking 350,000 cars off the road in the UK.
For the small number of customers whose cars are not compatible with E10, they should use our protection grade fuel, Shell V-Power, which will remain as E5.
Please note, this change only affects Petrol. There will be no change to Diesel.
